The Foundation's artistic director, Belarusian-American cellist Mark Prihodko, will be joined on stage by American-Korean pianist Ben Kim (winner of the ARD International Music Competition) and the Alinde Quartet (portrait artists at the Cologne Philharmonie).
Now, the four musicians use Schubert as a starting point to weave delicate threads into the 20th century: together with keyboard virtuoso Dmitry Ablogin, they turn their attention to the quintets of Schumann and Schnittke.
In this edition, our special guest is Lera Auerbach, the composer, pianist and visual artist whom this season's ‘Creative Portrait’ is dedicated to. Cellist Frans Helmerson performs her cello sonata with the composer playing the piano part.
The Konzerthausorchester, conducted by Joana Mallwitz, will premiere Lera Auerbach's orchestral work 'Labyrinth' (2018) at the 'Projections' festival. Inspired by Mussorgsky and Borges, the piece takes listeners on a mysterious journey with a dream wanderer and mythical creatures.
The Alinde Quartet, alongside actor Alexander Wanat, takes audiences on a lively musical journey to Italy at the Kölner Philharmonie. With spirited music, Italian stories, and energetic dances, the concert transforms into a vibrant piazza, creating an unforgettable afternoon for all ages.
As part of the Philharmonic "Portrait" series for Wolfgang Rihm, the Alinde Quartet performs his "Concerto" for string quartet and orchestra. Joined by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the program also features Bartók’s "Pictures from Hungary" and Beethoven’s energetic 2nd Symphony, conducted by Duncan Ward.
Organist Iveta Apkalna and the Alinde Quartett uniting in the philharmonic "Portrait" series. They traverse musical history from Mozart's church sonata to Philip Glass's minimalist allure and Ottorino Respighi's expressive "Quartetto dorico". The performance concludes with a new work by SJ Hanke, awarded the Hindemith Prize, blending organ and string quartet in innovative harmony.
The Alinde Quartet begins their residency at the Kölner Philharmonie with a chamber music program, blending the timeless elegance of Josquin des Prez with the expressive depth of Schubert's String Quartet. In a special highlight, they introduce Marc Migó’s "String Quartet No. 2 'Sardana - Quodlibet'," a piece that bridges tradition and innovation.
Where does Baroque music belong? Right here, and now. The talented musicians of Verità Baroque, some of whom are also members of the Alinde Quartet, bring the timeless sounds of the old masters to life with a fresh twist for the future.
"Cello Duello" features Jens Peter Maintz and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt in a captivating musical duel, where collaboration again takes center stage of the iconic Elbphilharmonie Hamburg
"Cello Duello" at Konzerthaus Berlin. Despite the competitive name, the two cellists Jens Peter Maintz and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, engage in a dynamic, fast-paced exchange, creating a thrilling and harmonious performance that delights audiences with its artistry and energy. Programm beinhaltet werke von Haydn, Offenbach, Weber, Paganini und Händel-Halvorsen.
