Portrait of the Alinde Quartett: Dmitry Ablogin

  • Kölner Philharmonie 1 Bischofsgartenstraße Köln, NRW, 50667 Germany (map)

Schnittke | Schubert | Schumann

The Alinde Quartet takes its name from a song by Franz Schubert. Now, the four musicians use Schubert as a starting point to weave delicate threads into the 20th century: together with keyboard virtuoso Dmitry Ablogin, they turn their attention to the quintets of Schumann and Schnittke.

For their current recording project, the complete cycle of Schubert's string quartets, the members of the Alinde Quartet have received the highest praise from both critics and audiences. Schubert also opens their highly anticipated concert in Cologne, where they will present Schumann's spirited Quintet in E-flat major with the subtle pianist Dmitry Ablogin on the fortepiano. Equally exciting will be their performance of Alfred Schnittke's quintet, which will be played on this more lyrical instrument, compared to the modern concert grand.
