Schubert 200: 2020-2028 The String Quartets Projects, Vol. 1
Mission
Schubert 200 pays tribute to Franz Schubert’s legacy while opening space for new voices in chamber music. Alinde Quartett reintroduces Schubert’s quartets as active works—reinterpreted through contemporary commissions and presented as part of a living musical dialogue
Approach
Each Schubert quartet is recorded alongside newly composed works that respond to its themes and structure. Concert programs are designed as “mirrors,” pairing historical and contemporary pieces, and are presented through festival weekends, discussions, and performances across Europe
Impact
By bridging tradition and innovation, Schubert 200 expands the chamber repertoire and connects with intergenerational audiences. The project strengthens appreciation for classical music’s evolution while supporting the work of the composers and performers of today

quotes
“
Finding the ideal sound world for Schubert's quartets is by no means easy, yet the Alinde strikes a near-ideal balance between internal clarity and textural warmth, shone through by sparkling intonation.

“
..the urgency of the interpretations that already characterized the first album reaches a high level of musical penetration in this recording as well… " The Schubert of the Alinde Quartet radiates an extraordinary naturalness, authenticity – as if this music could not be played any other way.
