Iveta Apkalna & Alinde Quartett

  • Kölner Philharmonie 1 Bischofsgartenstraße Köln, NRW, 50667 Germany (map)

For almost an entire season, the organist Iveta Apkalna and the Alinde Quartet have delighted in their philharmonic "Portrait" concerts. Finally, the organist and the quartet are now presenting themselves together. It goes all the way through the history of music – right up to a new work written for organ and string quartet by SJ Hanke from Regensburg, who was awarded the "Hindemith Prize".

But the Five start with a church sonata by Mozart. From there on, you also play out your individual class again and again. Iveta Apkalna celebrates the breathtaking sound stream of minimal music guru Philip Glass. The Alinde Quartet, on the other hand, enchants with the sometimes cantabile, sometimes artfully contrapuntal "Quartetto dorico", which the Italian Ottorino Respighi composed in 1924.
