Context
The world witnessed a seismic shift on February 24, 2022, as Ukraine was thrust into a sudden, unexpected war following a massive attack by the Russian army. The repercussions have been swift and severe, displacing millions of people now seeking safety and refuge around the globe.
Our involvement
Recognizing the urgent need for relief supplies, the ALTHAFEN Foundation organized the transport of essential supplies from Berlin to the Polish-Ukrainian border.
These supplies, encompassing food, drinks, clothing, and various consumables such as diapers, cosmetics, and toiletries, are vital for the well-being of those affected by the crisis.
As refugees seek passage at the Polish-Ukrainian border, the ALTHAFEN Foundation offers aid by providing seats in coaches. This initiative facilitates the safe and dignified transportation of individuals leaving Ukraine, ensuring they have access to the necessary means to continue their journey.
Additionally, the foundation organizes overnight accommodation for the majority of passengers in Germany and other European countries, contributing to their well-being as they transition to new destinations.
Private donations and relief supplies play a pivotal role in the ALTHAFEN Foundation's humanitarian efforts. To efficiently manage these contributions, the foundation stores them in Berlin, strategically organizing their transportation to the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Once there, these supplies are handed over to donation centres, amplifying the impact of community support and solidarity.
