Conspiranoia Symphony by Marc Migó | Premiere at Berliner Philharmonie

accelerated project artist in spotlight

Conspiranoia is a three-movement symphony for string orchestra, composed in response to the contemporary flood of conspiracy theories and the erosion of shared truth

The work unfolds as a psychological and sonic journey: from the obsessive searching of Ricercare, to the spectral illusions of Psicofonia, and finally to the choral lament of Cantus

A group of musicians in formal attire, holding string instruments, standing on a stage. They appear to be taking a bow after a performance, with a conductor standing in front of them. The audience is visible in silhouette, applauding.

Mission

To transform the invisible psychological landscape of conspiracy culture into sound—inviting audiences to experience, confront, and reflect upon the emotional and cognitive confusion of our current era.

Approach

Written for string orchestra, Conspiranoia explores the instability of perception through layered textures, unresolved harmonies, and references to historical forms such as the ricercare. The music mirrors how conspiracy theories imply structure while generating confusion. Instead of offering resolution, the piece remains suspended in ambiguity—encouraging listeners to sit with uncertainty in an age shaped by disinformation and blurred realities.

Impact

Conspiranoia engages contemporary audiences through its sharp musical response to themes of disinformation and perception. By translating complex ideas—such as media distortion and truth erosion—into a clear, immersive sonic experience, the work offers both artistic commentary and cultural relevance. In an era shaped by emotional manipulation and blurred realities, it stands as a measured, resonant contribution to the evolving language of new music.
